Zano Monthly Project Update #1 - October 2024

Welcome, zAnons! We’re glad to bring you the first of our monthly Zano Project updates, covering everything from technical developments to community engagement, integrations, social media growth, and more! From now on forward, we will provide the community with a monthly project update on everything that's happening within the Zano ecosystem.

In October, we reached the $100,000,000 market cap milestone! This could only happen thanks to the collaborative efforts of our community and project members, and last month was packed with it, so let’s dive in:

Community Member of the Month

First, let’s start with a very special award to Vlad Costea! Having Vlad as a community member for the last few months has been a blast. He has been doing an amazing job spreading the word about Zano with his audience, including a recent 2.5-hr. interview with us on his Bitcoin Takeover podcast (a must-watch!). We also appreciate his active experimentation with Confidential Assets (so far, the most active at Zano Trade). Because of this, we decided to sponsor Vlad’s upcoming privacy magazine. Physical copies will be available at the upcoming MoneroTopia conference. Make sure to grab one if you attend!
We are fortunate to have people like Vlad who support private digital cash. Best of luck with all of your projects, Vlad!

Zano Fact #1: Every token created on the Zano blockchain shares the same anonymity set as Zano itself, meaning that any asset launched on Zano (for example, a stablecoin or a meme coin)  has the same level of privacy as Zano itself!

Integrations

This month, we’ve seen great progress with numerous ongoing and finished integrations that boost Zano’s usability and adoption:

  • We announced our partnership and integration with Guardarian, Zano’s first fiat on/off ramp.
  • wZANO has been added to Verse’s V-Card, which allows you to pay with wZANO anywhere Mastercard is accepted.
  • Good progress has been made with the Cake Wallet integration, and it is expected to be completed in November.

Technical Updates

Website Changes

  • Updated our roadmap to reflect upcoming releases.
  • Implemented Explorer improvements for a better user experience.

Preparations for our Next Hard Fork

  • This upgrade will add support for Threshold Signature Schemes (TSS), which will be vital for our Confidential Layer integration. This will also improve the handling of Confidential Assets. More on this soon!

Frontend Side

  • We are working on an app where the upcoming Zano Alias Auction will occur.
  • We’re preparing a Matrix server and authentication web app based on aliases called Zano Matrix.

Libs and Tools

  • Working on a new version of Zano companion with burn/mint operations for bridging.
  • We started working on an auto-trading tool to enhance Zano trade.

Zano Fact #2: Zano could become deflationary if daily fee burns exceed emissions. Increased transactions lead to more burns!

Events & Campaigns

This month saw several initiatives aimed at building community and driving engagement:

  • $10,000 USDT Galxe campaign together with Confidential Layer went live
  • Prepared all Zano-branded materials for our MoneroTopia booth.
  • Confidential Layer's Guardians of the Galaxy airdrop campaign has officially begun at https://cloneairdrop.com/, and they have conducted a pre-sale aimed at the privacy community.
  • We hosted a #BuildWithZano Idea Contest, in which people sent in many creative ideas for projects that could be built on Zano. Check out the winning entries here.

Community Highlights

  • Onboarded new social-media manager Thies.
  • Onboarded three new moderators to support Zano’s rapid growth.
  • Onboarded two new ambassadors for France and Spain.ZanoShopping.com, a Zano-branded merchandise store, officially went live.

Zano Around the World

Zano Africa: Zano Africa has partnered with the Blockchain Club at Rivers State University to host an AMA session on Twitter Space. This interactive event will provide insights into the Zano ecosystem, its unique privacy features, and how it works.

Zano Turkey: This month, we resumed our collaboration with the Ody Crypto team. Our goal is to increase Zano's visibility and user base in Turkey. Last month, we worked on a joint project with them, which led to significant engagement on our Telegram, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok accounts.

Zano France: Zano France is making great progress. We’ve grown our community by engaging in contests and challenges and collaborating with local influencers to boost our visibility. Coming up: more partnerships, new initiatives, and soon, the launch of our Zano France Instagram page!

Zano Latam/Spain: This was the first month of the Zano Spanish community. We updated all the info on our X account and enabled the blue mark for more exposure. Many tweets passed 1k views, and we are now engaging with new Spanish audiences and crypto creators. The number of followers has doubled since last month.

Zano Fact #3: Did you know? You can create your own Zano alias with a minimum of 5 characters. Shorter aliases are rare and can currently only be obtained through contests and being a contributive community member! Later on, short aliases will be auctioned, and the ZANO raised will be used for marketing activities.
