We're thrilled to share all the exciting developments and milestones achieved in the Zano ecosystem this past month. Our journey continues to grow, with the highlight of December being Zano getting mentioned to nearly 7 million people during the Tucker Carlson and Roger Ver interview! Let's dive right in.

Community Member of the Month

First off, congratulations to Douglas Tuman for his well-deserved December award! Douglas, along with Sunita and the Monerotopia team, have been instrumental in re-establishing connections between Zano and the Monero community. He's been pivotal in providing a platform for collaboration between projects to make privacy a daily reality. In a world where CBDCs are imminent, Douglas reminds us that there's no time to fight about which tool we use; instead, we should focus on selecting what works - be it multiple tools - to advance toward creating a true parallel economy. Zano reaches mainstream audiences

Amidst an unjust situation, Roger Ver has done an exclusive interview with Tucker Carlson to share the truth about Bitcoin's history, the same truth for which he's seen as a threat. Roger also shared his enthusiasm for the future in the privacy space, highlighting his excitement for Zano and Confidential Layer, which he introduced to a whopping 7 million people on all socials combined!

To cap it all off, Aaron Day appeared on The Alex Jones Show, where he discussed why he chose Zano as the foundation for Kaurma, his upcoming privacy-focused, gold-backed stablecoin.

Events

  • Zano ecosystem tasks have been added to the Confidential Layer airdrop, which resulted in an enormous influx of new users to the Zano ecosystem. Furthermore, thousands of new aliases have been registered, many new assets have been created, and our metrics on X have also surged.
  • Zano has become a proud sponsor of the #FreeRoger campaign, gifting anyone who signs the petition $1 worth of free ZANO.
  • To further amplify the growth, we hosted a $500 ZANO giveaway to the best tweets about Zano.
  • Zano has launched a video creation contest with prizes worth $1000 worth of ZANO. The contest is still ongoing, so join in on the fun!
Zano Fact  #2: Thanks to the Zano tasks in the Confidential Layer Airdrop, 2,000 new aliases were created in just three days!

Ecosystem Growth

  • The website of Kaurma, the gold-backed privacy stablecoin being built on Zano, has launched.
  • The Zano Matrix Messenger, which allows for secure, private messaging between Zano alias holders, has been successfully launched!
  • Xeggex, a centralized exchange, has listed BANDIT. This is a significant milestone for the Zano ecosystem as it is the first asset built on Zano with an exchange listing. As a result, Bandit has been listed on coin trackers like LiveCoinWatch and CoinGecko.
  • The ‘’Zano Ecosystem’’ category has been created on CoinGecko. This is the start of a beautiful page where all assets built on the Zano ecosystem that are available on an exchange will be listed.

Core Development and Enhancements

  • HTTPS Support in Interruptible HTTP Client: HTTPS support has been implemented in the interruptible HTTP client, improving secure communication.
  • Blockchain Bootstrap via CDN: The pre-download blockchain bootstrap has been moved to a CDN, making it faster and more reliable to download.
  • Post-Zarcanum Block Reward Calculations: Implemented correct block reward calculations with get_block_reward_by_main_chain_height() and get_block_reward_by_hash() functions.
  • Hardfork ID Binding: Transactions since Hardfork 5 are now bound to the hardfork ID to prevent transaction-related issues during future hardforks. This feature is currently undergoing extensive testing.
  • Core Test Enhancements: Continued work on enhancing coretests, as part of our ongoing efforts to improve automated test coverage and system reliability.

API and RPC Updates

  • Remote Node Mode Detection: Added the ability for the GUI to detect remote node mode, improving user experience and clarity.
  • Block Reward in RPC: The block_reward value is now calculated correctly, ensuring accurate data for developers and explorers.

Research and Testing

  • Consensus Paper and Proof of Concept: Continued work on the consensus paper along with a proof of concept for review, marking a significant step toward improving Zano’s consensus mechanisms.
  • FCMP Research: Theoretical research on FCMP continues, exploring its potential benefits for the Zano ecosystem.

Mobile Development

  • Browser View Feature: Began development on a browser view feature for the Zano mobile app, which will enhance its functionality and expand use cases.

Web and Ecosystem Updates

  • Matrix-Based Messenger UI: Released the UI for the Matrix-based messaging system, allowing users to communicate securely within the Zano ecosystem.
  • UI Fixes and Updates: Various UI fixes and updates were implemented across the Zano ecosystem to refine the user experience.
  • CLI Trading Tools: Released the CLI version of Zano trading tools, empowering users with advanced on-chain trading capabilities.

Zano Around the World

Zano Africa

The key highlight of this month was Lil-King, the Zano African ambassador, being featured as a speaker in a space hosted by Cake Wallet. He had the chance to talk about privacy as an important ingredient to crypto adoption, highlighting its significance in the crypto space.

Zano Turkey

As Zano Türkiye, we did not organize any events this month. Instead, we dedicated ourselves to finding solutions to the issues our community faces and answering their questions. We had a great December, resolving the concerns and questions on the minds of our community members.

Zano France

In December, we launched the Zano Prono Foot, initiated contact with CoinAcademy for an interview with @Mr_Kwibs, and expanded our presence on Instagram. In January, prepare for a special Champions League edition and more educational content!

Zano Latam/Spain

December was a great month for connecting with new people. We didn’t organize any events, but we started making plans using the marketing budget. The Spanish YouTube channel is almost ready. We will translate much content and are preparing to collaborate with other Spanish crypto communities

Miscellaneous

Since the amount of content about Zano has incresed significantly, we’ve started clipping parts of interviews and uploading them as part of a new Zano social media campaign. We will continue to do so throughout 2025.
