Zano Monthly Project Update #8 - May 2025

Welcome zAnons to the 8th Zano Project Update!

May was a huge month for the Zano ecosystem, marked by major milestones across the board. Two standout highlights include the launch of Freedom Dollar (fUSD)—the first privacy stablecoin built on Zano—and the official debut of ZanoBay, a community-made P2P marketplace. These launches, along with new integrations, exchange listings, and community-driven growth, continue to push Zano forward as a true pioneer in privacy tech. Let’s dive into everything that made May a month to remember!

Community Member Of The Month

A big shoutout to our May awardee: MoneroDaTruth! If you’ve spent any time in our Telegram lately, you’ve no doubt come across his name. Constantly engaging, lending a hand to anyone who needs it, and always curious, showing genuine enthusiasm for privacy tech, and more importantly, what it means in practical terms for everyone's future. It’s that kind of steady, genuine contribution that makes a lasting impact. Thank you for all you do, MoneroDaTruth. Your energy doesn’t go unnoticed!

Like last month, this award will be minted as an Obscura NFT on Zano, allowing him to fully privately hold it, transfer it, or do whatever he chooses—we won't know!
Zano Fact  #1: Zano is expanding its presence across multiple channels, with TikTok and Instagram set to be actively managed in the coming months.

Technical Upgrades

May brought continued improvements to stability, wallet features, and ecosystem tooling. Here's a summary of what we've shipped:

Core & Node Improvements

  • Updated predownload files to height 3,150,000.
  • Also introduced separate predownload files for the new non-pruning mode, allowing faster sync for both standard and archival nodes.
  • The wallet cold-signing flow was thoroughly reviewed and adapted for the post-HF4 protocol state.
  • Several edge-case issues were fixed, and the documentation was updated accordingly.
  • We're closely coordinating with services that have adopted this feature to ensure reliability in real-world use.
  • Resolved a rare database cache race condition that could occur under high API load.
  • Fixed a rare crash on Windows, related to debug libraries and callstack retrieval.
  • Fixed an issue where invalid JSON characters in logs could crash the Linux terminal.

Testing & Stability

Continued improvements to core test coverage and infrastructure refactoring to make automated testing more reliable and maintainable.

Wallet & RPC Enhancements

Thanks to Andrey’s contributions, several new wallet and daemon RPCs were added:

  • force_rescan_tx_pool: Forces wallet to re-check the mempool for missed transactions.
  • wallet_transfer_info: Added to transfer() RPC for enhanced transfer metadata.
  • get_integrated_address: Now available in the daemon API.
  • Error handling added for custom seed generators, making wallet creation more robust.

Mobile App

Completed a full refactor and UI redesign of the mobile wallet.

The new version is currently under final testing and expected to be released shortly. It brings improved UX and enhanced support for connecting to Zano ecosystem apps.

Frontend & Ecosystem

Zano Trade Security Review:

The Zano Trade app has been submitted for review under the Immunefi bug bounty program.

Once the review is complete and any findings are addressed, we plan to open-source the code.

Documentation

We are currently updating our entire documentation and have already completely revamped the Use and Stake sections. Our goal is to have it fully up to date so that we can use it to train AI bots that will assist newcomers.

That’s all for May! Thanks for your continued support—more updates and new releases are just around the corner.

Zano Around The World

Zano Africa

May was a milestone month for Zano Africa! We hosted a successful meetup in Lokoja, Nigeria, with over 170 attendees discovering the benefits of Zano. Meanwhile, our X account reached 1,000 organic followers, a testament to our growing community!

Zano Turkey

This month, we decided to organize a football-themed event to increase the engagement and activity of the Zano Turkey community. Through this event, we aimed to help participants learn more about Zano while also keeping them motivated with small rewards. To maintain the community’s interest, we continue to share informative content and raise awareness about Zano’s technology, vision, and use cases through various videos and visuals.

Zano France

This month, the French community was on fire! 10 winners are sharing a $FUSD prize pool, thanks to their participation in the thread contest. Meanwhile, two French-speaking companies reached out to integrate ZanoCash into their payment systems. A hot summer is coming for Zano French... and this is just the beginning.

Zano Latam/Spain

May was a great month for establishing the community. We saw moderate growth, but gained many new members on Telegram and had very active user engagement. It was a month of Spanish language adoption, growth, and consolidation in this language. Compared to the first few months since we started, we can now say that we’ve built a real community. In addition, we hosted an F1 event that was very well received.

Zano Brazil

In May, Zano strengthened its presence in Brazil with a $200 giveaway in partnership with top local privacy influencers. We participated in the Ipê City Conference, presenting Zano to Web3 builders and creators, and also released educational content about fUSD and Zano’s latest exchange listings. A month focused on expanding reach, fostering community, and raising awareness around privacy and decentralized finance.

Miscellaneous

  • Help us rate the Zano mobile wallet on the Play Store and App Store. The more reviews the Zano Wallet has, the more credible it looks, which is crucial for attracting new zAnons!
Zano Fact  #3: May marked another all-time high in confirmed transactions, reaching a whopping 15,509 txs.

Conclusion

That wraps up another exciting chapter for Zano! With so many new integrations, events, and ecosystem milestones, it’s clear our momentum is stronger than ever. We’re incredibly grateful to every zAnon who continues to contribute, engage, and spread the word about privacy and what Zano stands for. Keep exploring, keep sharing, and stay tuned—there’s plenty more to come. We’ll see you in the next update!
